Job Description
Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced ICU RN (Registered Nurse) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a leading acute care hospital in Chico, CA. As a critical member of the intensive care team, you will care for patients with complex, life-threatening conditions while working in a supportive, professional environment that reflects Capstone’s culture of care, dedication, and clinical excellence. In this ICU RN role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients requiring close monitoring, advanced therapies, and rapid clinical decision-making. You will perform ongoing assessments, interpret clinical data, and respond promptly to changes in patient status. Typical responsibilities include managing ventilators and advanced airways, monitoring invasive and non-invasive hemodynamics, administering and titrating vasoactive and other high-risk medications, managing IV drips and infusions, caring for central and arterial lines, administering blood products, and supporting post-operative and post-acute patients recovering from complex surgical and medical events. Working collaboratively with intensivists, hospitalists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team, you will help develop and adjust individualized care plans that prioritize patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. You will participate in rapid responses and code blue situations, contribute to clinical decision-making during high-acuity events, and follow ICU protocols, hospital policies, and regulatory standards at all times. Accurate, thorough electronic documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses is an essential part of this position. You will also play a critical role in supporting patients’ families and caregivers, providing clear communication, education, and emotional support in a high-stress environment. Using strong critical thinking, prioritization, and time-management skills, you will coordinate complex care needs, anticipate potential complications, and advocate for patients throughout their ICU stay. Infection prevention, safe patient handling, and strict adherence to quality and patient safety initiatives are central to the position. As an ICU RN with Capstone Healthcare Staffing, you will benefit from working with a dedicated medical staffing agency that prioritizes quality placements and supports both clients and clinicians. Capstone offers a culture of care and dedication, giving you the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while expanding your clinical experience and professional network. You will have the chance to grow within the healthcare staffing industry, taking on challenging ICU assignments that align with your skills and career goals while connecting with rewarding, mission-driven healthcare organizations. This position is an on-site clinical role based in Chico, CA, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, according to unit needs.
