Job Description
As an RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator ICU at HealthONE, you will play a key leadership role in delivering high-acuity, evidence-based critical care to adult patients in a fast-paced intensive care environment. Based within HealthONE’s Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will coordinate daily clinical operations on your assigned ICU shift, functioning as both an expert bedside clinician and a resource for the interprofessional team. You will oversee patient assignments, support safe staffing decisions, and ensure timely implementation of physician orders and care plans. Working closely with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and ancillary staff, you will champion best practices in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, sepsis protocols, post-operative care, and management of complex multi-system conditions. You will actively participate in rounds, advocate for patients and families, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and compassionate care consistent with HealthONE’s mission and values. In this role, you will mentor and coach ICU nurses and support staff, serving as a clinical resource for clinical decision-making, complex procedures, and use of advanced monitoring and life-support equipment. You will facilitate onboarding and precepting of new team members, reinforce adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, and support ongoing competencies, education, and skills development across the unit. You will assist in performance improvement initiatives by monitoring quality indicators, participating in root cause analyses, and leading or supporting unit-based projects to improve outcomes such as mortality, length of stay, infection prevention, and patient experience. The RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator ICU will be responsible for timely documentation, coordination of patient flow including admissions, transfers, and discharges, and collaboration with case management and other departments to support safe transitions of care. You will model effective communication with patients and families, offering clear explanations about treatments, interventions, and ICU routines, while providing emotional support during critical and often stressful situations. HealthONE offers a collaborative environment that values innovation and professional growth. As Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will have opportunities to engage in shared governance, contribute to policy development, and participate in education, evidence-based practice, and leadership development programs. This position is ideal for an experienced ICU RN seeking to expand leadership responsibilities while maintaining a strong clinical presence at the bedside and making a direct impact on patient outcomes and team culture in the Denver community.
