RN Part-time/Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) – Part-Time / Per Diem / Day Shift / Campton / Plymouth / NH Location: Campton, New Hampshire Mount Prospect Academy (MPA) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our teams in Campton and Plymouth on a part-time or per diem basis. This is a meaningful opportunity to support adolescents in residential and educational treatment programs while working alongside a mission-driven, trauma-informed team. Summary of Job Responsibilities The Nurse provides oversight and supervision to the medical needs of our residents. The Nurse is responsible for overseeing medication administration and assuring the overall general physical health of our students is met in accordance with state and federal guidelines. The nurse provides general oversight to the medical office and functioning of medical needs. General responsibilities are as follows: Maintain clinical licensure (RN). Review intake materials for relevant information and assessments. Develop a baseline of knowledge health and psychiatric information regarding resident and family. Review intake information to ensure copy of immunization record and most recent physical (within 30 days) is on file. Meet with resident within 24 hours of intake, preferably the day of intake, to review health needs. Assess students with medical ailments providing services and referral as needed. Coordinate with home psychiatrist/pediatrician to ensure all needs are met. Phone call to home psychiatrist within 7 days of intake. Coordinate with Clinical team to provide medication management with routine consultation scheduled with psychiatrist. Monitor side effects of medications as directed by consulting psychiatrist/physician (e.g. monitor weight, sleep, etc.). Obtain permission from parent/guardian for any medication changes, and document in KCARE. Create MAR for each resident and oversee medication administration. Provide trainings to residential faculty regarding medication administration and other health needs. Maintain dialogue with all faculty to ensure that they receive needed resident specific health information. Maintain regular communication with the family/guardian regarding resident's health needs. Coordinate with local providers to schedule appointments for residents. Maintain and order medication supplies. Maintains current documentation for each resident of all services provided, medication administered, and outside contacts made in accordance with policy (document all services within 24 hours). Perform such other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Director of Operations. Requirements
Active RN license required.
1+ year of ER or acute-care experience.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. TNCC preferred.
Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
