Job Description
The Northwell Transplant Institute is seeking a full-time, Abdominal Transplant Surgeon who has a strong background in Pediatric Liver Transplantation to serve as Surgical Director for Pediatric Liver Transplantation. In addition to the Transplant Institute’s comprehensive adult transplant services for heart, lung, kidney and liver, the Transplant Institute currently offers the only pediatric heart transplant program on Long Island as well as an established pediatric kidney transplant program. The successful candidate will partner with an established Pediatric Transplant Hepatology team who provide comprehensive care for children with both transplant and non-transplant liver diseases. This multidisciplinary team is based at Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center. Cohen Children’s Medical Center opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area’s only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today, it is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, with over 750,000 visits annually and serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is the tertiary pediatric medical center of the Northwell Health System and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island. Ideal candidates will have: Completed ASTS approved fellowship training in Abdominal Transplant Surgery with preferred fellowship training in Pediatric Liver Transplantation Hepatobiliary Surgery. Candidates with significant focus in pediatric abdominal transplant surgery without advanced pediatric transplant/hepatobiliary surgery fellowship may be considered. At least 2 years post-fellowship experience Proven track record of clinical excellence and surgical proficiency Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills

Requirements
Active RN license in good standing.
1+ year of clinical experience preferred; new grads considered for residency tracks.
BLS required. ACLS preferred for hospital roles.
Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
