Schedule: 7on/7off block Professional Autonomy: Manage your patients' care, including assessments, diagnostics, treatment plans, and follow-ups. Development Opportunities: Gain experience working with diverse patient populations and complex medical comorbidities. Details Position type: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Setting: Inpatient behavioral hospital. Full-time or part-time available. Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of admission, follow-ups, and discharge planning. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing medical and mental health needs. Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers. Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance overall health. Provide medical consults and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments as needed. Deliver emergency care within your licensure scope until specialized care is available. Requirements Licensure: Active Alaska Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant license or the ability to obtain licensure prior to start. Education: Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program. Certification: AANPCB, ANCC, or NCCPA board certification.
Experience: Prior clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred; behavioral health experience a plus.
