About This Role

Transitioning from the bedside to a regulatory environment, this role offers an unconventional path for nurses—particularly those with ICU or emergency backgrounds—who possess a keen eye for safety and risk mitigation. Operating within the Bureau of Standards across Central Florida, you will serve as a field inspector ensuring the integrity of liquefied petroleum gas systems. Your daily routine shifts from patient care to technical oversight, involving physical site assessments, equipment testing with specialized meters, and rigorous investigations into accidents or consumer complaints. This is an active position requiring the ability to climb, kneel, and navigate industrial settings to evaluate storage and distribution infrastructure. Candidates must be comfortable with moderate travel and occasional overnight stays. While deep clinical knowledge is a given, this role prioritizes those with a meticulous approach to compliance and public health safety. The position offers a stable career service path with a salary range of $45,000 to $49,500, supplemented by the State of Florida’s comprehensive benefits package and a negotiable headquarters location within the Brevard or Orange County regions. It is an ideal fit for a detail-oriented professional looking to apply their investigative skills toward community-wide injury prevention and industrial regulation.
