Job Description
Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Med Surg RN (Registered Nurse) for an assignment in Rock Island, IL within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a key member of the medical-surgical care team, you will provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this role, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, manage IV lines and medications, perform wound care, and support post-operative recovery. You will collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Using sound clinical judgment, you will recognize changes in patient status, escalate concerns appropriately, and respond promptly to emergent situations. Accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is an essential part of the position, along with clear communication during handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds. The Med Surg RN will educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions, promoting understanding, safety, and adherence to care plans after hospitalization. You will prioritize multiple patient needs throughout your shift, utilizing strong time-management and organization skills to deliver safe and efficient care. Adherence to infection prevention and control practices, hospital policies, and nursing standards of practice is required at all times. Requirements
Active RN license in good standing.
1+ year of clinical experience preferred; new grads considered for residency tracks.
BLS required. ACLS preferred for hospital roles.
Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
