About This Role
This travel assignment places a Critical Care specialist in a stroke-certified ICU setting within the vibrant Los Angeles area. Working the 7 PM to 7 AM night block from Monday through Sunday, you will manage a focused patient load of approximately five individuals per shift. The clinical demands of this role require a provider comfortable with high-acuity interventions, including ventilation management, invasive airway procedures, central line insertions, and thoracentesis. This is an ideal fit for a physician who thrives in an autonomous nocturnal environment and possesses the technical precision necessary for intensive bedside procedures. You can expect a guaranteed 12-hour workday with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $220 to $250. Beyond the financial incentives, the position includes a comprehensive travel package featuring complimentary housing, arranged transportation, and weekly pay cycles. With simplified credentialing and a dedicated recruiter handling the logistical heavy lifting, you can maintain your clinical focus while the administrative details of this ongoing California-based contract are fully managed for you.

Frequently asked questions
How long is a typical travel nurse contract?
Most travel nurse contracts run 8–13 weeks, with the option to extend or take a new assignment after each contract. Some crisis or rapid-response contracts are as short as 4 weeks.
Is housing provided or is there a stipend?
Most travel agencies offer a tax-free housing stipend rather than agency-arranged housing. Stipends vary by city and assignment, typically $1,000–$2,500 per month on top of weekly taxable pay.
Do I need a compact nursing license?
A multistate (compact) license lets you work in any NLC member state without applying for a separate license. For non-compact states (e.g., California, New York) you'll need a state-specific RN license before starting.
