Job Description
Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dependable Med Surg RN (Registered Nurse) for an inpatient medical-surgical unit in Kearney, NE. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse adult population with acute and chronic medical conditions, post-surgical needs, and complex care plans. Working as part of a collaborative healthcare team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, manage IVs and infusions, provide wound care, and support patients through recovery and discharge. You will document thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record, communicate clearly with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and follow-up care to promote safe transitions and positive outcomes. As a Med Surg RN with Capstone Healthcare Staffing, you will practice in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment that requires strong critical-thinking skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple patients and competing demands. You will respond promptly to changes in patient condition, follow evidence-based protocols, escalate concerns appropriately, and participate in emergency situations in accordance with unit and hospital policies. Your role includes coordinating care with case management, therapy, and ancillary services, advocating for patient needs and preferences, and supporting a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement. You will contribute to a positive team atmosphere by precepting or mentoring when appropriate, engaging in ongoing education, and adhering to infection prevention and quality standards. Requirements
Active RN license in good standing.
1+ year of clinical experience preferred; new grads considered for residency tracks.
BLS required. ACLS preferred for hospital roles.
Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
