Job Description

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, part of Mission Health and located on the scenic Highlands-Cashiers Plateau, is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join its Healthcare & Medical Services team.

In this role, you will function as both a clinical expert and a nursing leader, working at the bedside while coordinating day-to-day patient care activities for your assigned unit.

You will oversee patient flow, support staff assignments, and ensure that evidence-based nursing practice, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, administer medications and treatments, and develop individualized plans of care in partnership with patients, families, physicians, and the broader interdisciplinary team.

You will serve as a resource and role model for nursing staff, assisting with clinical decision-making, mentoring newer nurses, and promoting a culture of safety, open communication, and continuous learning.

Collaboration is central to this position; you will coordinate with physicians, therapists, ancillary departments, and care management to optimize patient outcomes, streamline transitions of care, and support patient education and discharge planning.

You will help monitor unit metrics related to quality, patient satisfaction, and throughput, contributing to performance improvement initiatives aligned with the hospital’s commitment to patient-centered care.

In keeping with Highlands-Cashiers Hospital’s culture of compassion and excellence, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator is expected to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, professional accountability, and a patient-focused approach in every interaction.

You will help foster a supportive, team-oriented environment by promoting respectful communication, assisting with conflict resolution, and encouraging shared decision-making at the unit level.

This position is ideal for an experienced registered nurse who enjoys both hands-on clinical practice and informal leadership responsibilities, and who is motivated to enhance the health and well-being of the local community through high-quality, coordinated care in a dynamic hospital setting.
